Disney Cruise Line's Newest Port of Call: Lighthouse Point
Introducing Lighthouse Point, Disney's new island destination. Located on the very southernmost tip of the beautiful island of Eleuthera. Picture turquoise water, pink sandy beaches, and rocky bluffs...that's Eleuthera. With Castaway Cay, this island will be Disney's second private tropical destination in The Bahamas. Known for his works at Disney's Animal Kingdom and Aulani, Walt Disney Imagineer Joe Rohde comments that the island's inspiration is derived from both "the living nature of Lighthouse Point" and a cultural blend of The Bahamas. Disney worked with Bahamian artists to help bring their vibrant culture to life on the island.

Disney Cruise Line purchased the island early in 2019, and the company has committed to developing less than 20 percent of the land. Additional commitments include implementing sustainable building practices and donating over 190 acres of land to the Government of The Bahamas.
Lighthouse Point magically opened in 2024, just in time for Disney Cruise Line's 25th anniversary.
Disney Wish
Speaking of wishes... Disney has announced that they are adding three new ships to their magical fleet, giving us all a lot to look forward to on the seas. The first of the three ships, Disney Wish, set sail in January 2022! Disney grants Princess Rapunzel her wish to see the world by showcasing her on the ship's stern. She is represented in full glory and hair as she paints the name of the ship.
Disney Wish features a three-story atrium that lets guests step inside an enchanted fairy tale. Based on the concept art, I can only imagine how beautiful the rest of the ship will be.
