Writer's picture: DaniDani

Last month, we stayed at the Holiday Inn Orlando - Disney Springs and were pleasantly surprised by our entire experience. This post will cover various aspects of our stay during our January visit to Walt Disney World, including the location, rooms, rates, food, and more. Let's break it down.

Location - Disney Springs

We visited Walt Disney World during the runDisney, Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. This trip was planned at the last minute, so we weren't necessarily looking to splurge but still wanted to enjoy our hotel and its amenities. Typically, we stay in the Boardwalk area, but recently, we've been exploring different properties around WDW. During a previous trip, we stayed at Saratoga Springs and loved the resort because of its proximity to Disney Springs. That experience influenced our decision for this January trip.

We chose the Holiday Inn Orlando - Disney Springs for several reasons: price, location, and overall value. The Holiday Inn is part of the IHG Hotels and Resorts brand, which also includes popular hotels such as Intercontinental, Hotel Indigo, and Staybridge Suites. For our four-night stay from January 8th to 12th in a King Standard Pool View room, the total cost was $788.71, averaging about $197 a night. This rate also included free breakfast every morning and two complimentary drinks at the bar—pretty good, right?

Room Accommodations

Our room met all our needs. The king-size bed provided ample space, and the room also included a sofa, a balcony with two chairs to enjoy the pool view, a mini fridge and microwave, a traditional coffee maker, and a nice bathroom. One factor that really sealed the deal for me about the Holiday Inn Orlando - Disney Springs was the daily room cleaning. I've noticed that some hotels have reduced room cleaning to every other day or upon request, so having daily service was a plus. Another highlight was how comfortable the bed was; both Danny and I slept well the entire trip.

Dining

Danny and I are early risers eager to hit the parks as soon as they open. To energize ourselves before each magical day, the free breakfast (for which we paid an additional $40 per day) was incredibly helpful. We usually don’t eat much for breakfast, but the menu offerings at this hotel changed that. I loved the omelet bar, which offered healthy toppings like bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, and several meat options. We also enjoyed the fruit, sausage, cereal, oatmeal, and a variety of waffle and pancake options. The waitstaff were super friendly, and we had some great conversations with them.

Hotel Perks

Although we did not use the swimming pool, it was beautiful to look at and added a charming element to the hotel. The hotel's atrium is also nicely designed and reminded me of the Pixar Place lobby, but maybe that's just me.

The Holiday Inn Orlando - Disney Springs offers a shuttle service to take guests to and from the parks. To utilize the shuttle, guests can reserve spots online using the link provided by the hotel. The shuttle operates hourly from 7 AM to 7 PM, or an hour before the parks close, returning every 30 to 40 minutes past the hour, depending on the theme park.

One modern amenity that impressed us was the Pharmabox. This trip introduced me to Pharmabox, and now I want one at every hotel I visit. Pharmabox is a vending machine that offers pharmacy and body care products typically found at places like CVS and Walgreens. This was a game-changer for our trip because we needed to restock on a few medicines. Being able to conveniently purchase items from the box without having to visit stores or pay for delivery really enhanced our hotel experience.

Will You Stay At The Holiday Inn Orlando - Disney Springs?

Overall, the Holiday Inn Orlando - Disney Springs is an excellent choice if you're interested in staying at Walt Disney World. Since it’s on property, it’s considered a Walt Disney World Good Neighbor Hotel, giving guests access to the extra magic hours offered at select parks throughout the week. Plus, if you love Disney Springs, the walk there takes less than 15 minutes!
